Exclusive-use Lifestyle Facilities for independent living at Belvidere Park

Belvidere Park has everything you need for independent living, yet with the added support required of a mature living facility. From our community lounge and dining room, comfortable reading room and swimming pool to daily activities and clubs, visiting service providers and a regular courtesy bus to town.

The main complex at Belvidere Park houses the Care Centre, as well as great lifestyle facilities for the exclusive use of residents.

Library
The Park has a small, well-stocked library offering many different genres of both fiction and non-fiction books. Residents may borrow books at any time, on an “honour” basis.

Swimming Pool
Our swimming pool is situated behind the Community Centre.  General rules applicable to the use of the pool are published in the Code of Conduct.

Assisted Living
Six bedsitter suites, offering “assisted living” have been built and are sold on an Occupancy-Right basis. There are also four Care wards.

Mail
Each cottage is assigned a cubby-hole in the community centre foyer, with the house number displayed. Mail (addressed to the Park’s private bag number) is collected and distributed twice weekly. Mail is also delivered to the Park by the Post Office, on a daily basis.

Visiting practitioners
Belvidere Park will gladly organise visiting practitioners at residents’ requests from fitness instructors & hairdressers to religious mentors & wellness professionals.

Dining room
Our kitchen prepares a daily lunch which can be served in the community dining room or ordered as a “take-away” by the resident. Orders need to be place a day in advance. On Wednesday and Friday evenings, dinners are also served in the dining room, as well as a Sunday buffet or brunch.

We enjoy many compliments on the quality and diversity of all our meals.

Croquet Lawn
The newest addition to Belvidere Park is our brand new, very popular croquet lawn initiated by the residents. Set under a beautiful shady tree, lined with park benches it’s become a popular spot for casual social gatherings.

Shuttle Service
There is a regular service between Belvidere Park and Knysna every Tuesday and Friday morning, departing from the Care Centre at 9:00am and returning from Knysna at +/- 12 noon, for those residents who don’t drive and enabling them to do a little shopping etc.
